ITV News Website

This is my version of the ITV News website enabling the site to have more content (meaning it would be a larger scale operation), more news getting direct to you, as well as summaries of weather and blogs all on one page. The following design is the homepage for the news section and I am hoping to upload further pages in due course. The sub menu bar is embedded into the news website, and categories have been added.

In my opinion I think the look brings a fresher feel and enables you to navigate easier like the ITN and BBC News websites.

Design wise, it's a step back from the current one.

What key elements would you take from the current site and put into this mock? would you rather there be a background rather than the white space (e.g big ben graphic)? Do you think the concept is any good? Is it fresher in a good way?

I would get a more up to date mary picture key elements link to the regional news , full programme , meet the team etc. also the concept is good and is both more detailed and fresh the blogs side bar is good .
