It just looks a bit inconsistent having one font for "NEWS" and then a different one for the other text on screen.

Al Jazeera English get away with it as did BBC News between 2003 and 2007! Nothing to do with it.

Just because two broadcasters did it, it doesn't stop it from looking inconsistent!

If you take one of them, redraw it and animate it you get some nice results.

I'm made some tweaks to my original design (font, moved everything to right a little) and added some more designs...so heres my ITV News Channel so far...

TOTH: You'll have to use your imagination abit here. You have the countdown, the each the image for each headline, you'll have to imagine the image relevant to the headline coming forward then going down into the corner...then the logo would come up, suggestions for this would be greatly appriciated because i'm really not sure about it, think its abit plain...

You're not half wrong there actually, it does look quite good.

I'll just say that you can make the slide 16:9 by going to: Design > Page Setup > On-screen Show (16:9), However this will stretch what ever is on the slide, so it is best to open a new PowerPoint and then copy and paste the original into it.

As for TOTH, I think more of a hero panels than simply headline pictures.

BTW, my interpretation of I had just said is here.
Probably my first 'professional' After Effects mock.

Very nicely done.

Why don't we all do a communal mock?
Where we all make elements and they get stuck together in a large final piece.

Sounds like a good idea and one that would work. For example I had a few ideas that I used powerpoint to put together for this mock, but I didn't have any 'better' software to polish them off, or any animation software to animate them, so by working together, a complete mock could be created.
Very Happy
