ITV Daybreak mock

Hello, Here is my mock for ITV's Daybreak. After seeing what ITV have come up with for Daybreak, i decided to create my own because i thought that they had made a poor attempt at reinventing the morning show, GMTV Today. I kept the purple theme that they chose for the official Daybreak logo, but put my own twist on it.
What do you think of my attempt? Have i suceeded in making the Daybreak logo look better than the one that ITV are going to use?

Text is fine, IMO think the background is a bit bland and dark.

It look's nice but the font is a bit thin and the background look's a bit dark and not breakfast

A transition from the purple to orange or green during the (assumed) text animate would be clever, symbolising the move from night to day.
