Seeing as that "retro" ITV anniversary logo thread got bumped, thought I'd share some WIP rough ideas for how the classic IT|/ style logo could be brought into the 21st Century



Or, if all-small case is the ITV thing nowadays

Not the first time I've had a crack at modernising an old ITV logo mind you

I'd love to see an expansion of this across the ITV sister channels and News/Sport/Weather brands

Loving the first one, slightly perfect symmetry. Not too keen on the lower case variant. Can't wait to see what comes next.

Fun fact: The Spanish equivalent of an MOT is called an ITV (Inspección Técnica de Vehículos), with a familiar looking logo

Well the fact a Spanish motoring logo got more thumbs up than my "mock" spoke volumes but....

Nothing imaginative but it doesn't look any more childish than their current set.

Very intriguing indeed.

I love how there is a consistency within this particular logo group with clearly defined colour groupings for each service.

These in particular look quite 'neon-y' and 'retro' but doesn't quite fit modern ITV.

That font for News seems like a backwards step - they used something similar on the 1995 (last ITN) and 1999 (first ITV News) looks.

Deliberate choice. I was very fond of that era and it fitted with the "retro" theme of the idea. I did toy with using Highway (the US roadsign font) but it didn't sit right.

It was only an idea anyway. There's no way on god's green earth that they'd ever work.

I can’t pretend I like this as a look for ITV – and I love the current ITV look – but I do like the aesthetic and in another context it could really work. As you’ve said, it definitely has a nice retro thing going on and I do like that it’s different.
