Yorkshire Look North (Yorkshire)
I'm going to try and break down my views on this down by image. tl;dr I'm no fan.
Image 1:
I'm not a fan of the logos and font used, whilst a rectangle is a good holding shape ITV Three sticks out like a sore thumb. Not keen on the gradients or some of the colours TBH; Two, Four & Five work but then having One in blue is odd to me as I associate it with yellow, but then it's had yellow in the logo (and blue) from the launch of the 'ITV1' name in 2001.
Image 2 & 3:
The layout is fine, the images are fine, but agree with what's been said about text needing to be made smaller, replace Saturday with Wednesday and it'll clash with the logo. Wink
However it's that dark background used here and in subsequent images, it's dark and depressing, ITV already went through this between 2006-13 and still remains in end-credits, something I'd like to see scrapped.
Image 4:
I like the News and Weather logo, the other's are lost to me. So is it ITV Four Sport, or ITV Sport on Four? Why is the channel number above the ITV logo? Why is the ITV logo not aligned the same in each example? The ITV Box Office logo works because the ITV logo is outlined and connected the rest of the logo, remove the outline and it would look awkward just sitting there, and that's what's happening here.
Image 5:
Most of what's in "Image 2 & 3" relates here. But the red line could be made the same width as used in image 2 & 3, or vice-versa.
Image 6:
Again relates to the above, although all the text seems to have been budged in a bit.
Image 7 & 8:
So will they just be outdoor scenes with the logo as show on the image? Very UTV to me, something's that's been done before. Confused
Image 10:
Does the job, needs music. Razz
Image 11:
You need to use that space to promote everything you can, many online streaming services use one large image to promote a show which catches the audience's attention. BBC iPlayer for example can have around 14 different shows on the homepage without scrolling down.

Thanks for the extensive feedback. Perhaps switching it around so the bright colours were the background would help this mock - or would it look garish? As for images 4 and 5, the idea was that they'd be used as an element during programming. For example, ITV Four doesn't always show sport, but when it does, that graphic would be on screen. And for the idents, the main point was the fact that viewers now had a chance to interact by choosing their favourite videos (which don't have to necessarily be just outdoor) for their ident. Maybe one week for Easter there could be 4 filmmakers who've made different festival-related footage which the public could choose from on the website. Hope this clears that up a bit. I'm curently working on the second version of ITV Hub, and the featured show will be a big element, whilst still being able to have an area for other shows Smile

Is it an improvement on what we have now. No.
Even if it was the font weight is way too thin - look at the CITV one you did for a better example. That looks far better because it is bold and stands out.

Believe it or not, when the CITV channel was in the pipeline, ITV Kids was one of the considered names, but it was changed to CITV to associate it more with the main brand.

At one point a joint venture with Nickelodeon was in the pipeline as iNk - ITV Nickelodeon Kids.

All your text is far too big, you could probably halve it and still be fine. You need to apply safe areas to your designs and space things out a load to give it space and look at the structure - the promo slides especially look like they've just been designed to use all the available space, with things fitted in where there is space rather than what it is. I also completely disagree with your rationale for not using the ITV brand font in your channel logos. In your page of multiple logos, the best looking ones are for news and weather, because they're "on brand". If you're going to introduce a new logo typeface for the channel logos, it needs to be something distinctive, which your current font really isn't.

Kudos for actually explaining what you're trying to do though, something sadly missing from many people's posts. Good luck and please carry on.

Thanks for the feedback - in response your point about the large text, if you look at the current ITV branding, for example the breakdown slide, the text is huge, however I will still make a few things smaller where it makes things more effective for the viewer. I’ll also try and apply safe areas in the second version. I still stand by my use of font different to Reem, as I wanted the font in the channel logo to be only used in the channel logo. Therefore, the logo is instantly recognisable to anyone. Smile

You can have big text, but it's when it fills the entire screen and everything's crowded on that it starts looking bad.

I've shrunk things, sorted out the safe areas and shuffled the order around so it's more logical here to get it more like I prefer. They're not big changes, but it looks (to me at least) a lot more polished.

I think there's a lot of promise in this project. Keep going with it! You've got the structure of the promo slides looking great.

My main piece of advice: make sure the logo and the 'number' text are lined up consistently. When they're lined up the logos look great but when the alignment is off, it sticks out like a sore thumb. This mostly happens with One (especially on the breakdown slide).

Also I'm not sure about how dark Two's colour gradient is - I don't think having it go from red to black works. The red works but maybe going from red to either pink or orange would work better than the black. However, I LOVE the choice of gold/brass for Three.

Take a leaf out of my book, I did an ITV2 rebrand and the 2’s were too big and made everything look crowded.

By making everything smaller but legible it will look good.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I'm in the process of designing the second edition of this mock and I've definitely made sure the ITV logo aligns with the rectangles and I've also lightened the Two colour scheme Smile

Yes, sizing things down has definitely been the main focus when designing the next edition of the mock.

Thanks so much to everyone who posted feedback. I've now taken that into consideration, and have designed a second edition of this mock. One of the main criticisms was the promo slide, and mainly that the text was too big. I've now made everything much smaller but still legible and I think it looks much better and more sleek. Another point raised regarding the promo slide was that the backgrounds were dull and boring, so I decided to completely flip it around. The background is now a bright gradient, with the smaller text now being in the black. Personally, I don't think this is too bright or garish, I think it stands out from other channels, for example if somebody was flicking through their TV, they'd instantly see ITV One with the blue background on a promo slide. Also, big thanks to dosxuk for helping me sort out the layout and sizing of the promo slide too. Here's the new images:

Another point put forward by TVVT was about CITV, and how it stood out from the other logos straight away. Seeing as I'd changed ITVBe into ITV Five, and even though CITV is a well-known name, I decided it would still be best to just have ITV Six. It fits nicely with the fact that they'll no longer be CITV specific idents, and all designs will be uniform with every other ITV channel. The only difference is that it's obviously dedicated to kids' TV shows. Here's the image explaining further:

I've also updated the revamped ITV Hub, making it a bit brighter and changing the layout in the ways suggested, with a more compact and better structured design.

Thanks for all the constructive feedback, and I look forward to receiving more thoughts on the second edition of my mock. Smile
