The current idents focus on something where as that latter one just showed traffic from a distance. Play around with some more idea even if it means setting things up in your house. Try setting up kitchen baking/cooking scene with a member of your family or a friend trying to prepare something. A lot of ITV's idents don't focus on the person more what's going on.

Like this:

Kids Toys on a cheap table in a messy council house, an ITV ident does not make.

Also the colour swatch looks awful, what's with the white bevel!?

The bevel is subtle and is to make the logo stand out. Anyway, I will make more ident mocks.

The bevel needs to be more sutble, I can see the white lines, whereas on the idents it's barely there. I think the key missing thing footage wise, is the lack of shallow depth of field. You'd need at least DSLR with a fast lens (and large aperture - f1.4 - f2.8 ) - I know getting that might be a stretch but that's a part of the look.

Not bad work, but the bevel needs to be reduced and the idents need to focus on one thing as others have said.
Also on the real idents, the video footage has a slight blur to it, which eliminates the need for a bevel. The ITV logo is meant to blend into the background slightly, but since the background is moving and the colour of the logo segments are changing, the logo is perfectly visible without the need of the bevel.

This mock isn't bad at all, you just need to look at existing ITV idents more closely and use them to help you improve your idents.

So in summary, here's a list of things I'd recommend doing next:
O Make the segments change colour slower.
O Remove/reduce the bevel.
O Blur the background slightly.
O Focus on one thing in each ident.

I am working on reducing the bevel like this:

(Updated Breakbumper) - Also in 4K

The bevel is subtle.

The Idents I am remaking focus on scenery.

The 4K breakbumpers look awful, it's almost like it's been upscaled. Are you using a vector to generate the segments or is it a raster image?

I am using a vector to generate the segments. And by the way the breakbumpers are made in 4K using footage that is 1080p.

Footage? Why would a graphic breakbumper need footage?

It looks like it's 1080p upscaled to 4K, not 4K native

Forgive me if I'm wrong but why would ITV need 4K breakbumpers anyway, considering they only broadcast in HD?

Because even though they only broadcast in HD, 4K exists now, I am taking the opportunity to utilize it.

Hi everyone. I have found a way to render my ITV Breakbumper mocks in 4K. I will update them shortly.
