I like this although I agree with others that the original logo would look muchbetter. I think that if this was ever put into practice on TV, I think it would suit the date to be read by the presenters and then the voiceover follows. Like the Today Show from NBC

Thanks for all of the feedback. I managed to salvage the project, having found an autosaved version.
Changes:
1) I've swapped the Docklands clip to one of Tower Bridge, so that the date stands out more.
2) I've made the 'itv' logo fade in by section.
3) I've replaced the recoloured logo for the original as many suggested.

2) It goes a little fast to notice. Though I think it would make more sense to brand it under ITV News
3) Doesn't look bad but it doesn't fit in with the rest of the color theme.
Still looks great though. Also, have the logo zoom out at the end.

I agree, if ITN took over it, it wouldn't be branded as ITV, but it would be branded as ITV News. Other than that I'm loving the updated version. I am actually remaking the ITV News theme in Garageband at the moment, so I could make a more breakfasty version and send it to you if you'd like? Just so it gives a better feel of how this would look and sound on TV

I believe that the 'itv' is a reference to the channel that it is being broadcast on, nothing to do with the programme name. However, if it was branded 'ITV News' you wouldn't be able to do the "colour picking" as seen below as it just wouldn't work, and it looks out of place.
A possible alternative is a white logo? Let me know what you think.

Not sure, it just needs to look a little bit more like ITV news, maybe the tiles like in the ITV News titles could be implemented somewhere (not sure how) but that would give it that ITV news feel.
