It's a fair point, but not only did "Wales" and "West" look a bit lonely on their own, I figured I should go by official protocol...

All look professional and consistent. Well done! Maybe the 2 HTVs should just only have "WALES" or "WEST" under the ident instead of repeating the "HTV.."?

Sorry to be a bit of a downer on this, but it doesn't really work for me. In the original, the Granada logo is of a size and proportion that means it's prominent and fits the centre of the screen well. With the other logos, they end up being too small and too far down the screen and look lost - LWT and HTV in particular.

Meridian doesn't look right either, as it should be centred along the vertical line splitting the sun rather than the mathematical centre of the entire image.

I can't deny some of the logos look better than others in that form. Considering some of the logos suffered in the constraints of the 1989 generic package, I guess that's the price to pay for any uniform design like that.
It's got me thinking about another alternative outcome whereby all of the GMG regions suffered the same fate as Carlton's subsidiaries, where the parent company's name took over the other companies, and we had Granada Cymru Wales, Granada Tyne Tees etc.

Had a quick re-tooling by having Granada as the parent brand of the subsidiary companies...
