Good Morning Britain Graphics

So here is my new GMB Mock. I've taken on feedback; the safe area has been considered. The font has been changed and turned into semi-bold and transitions have been changed. I think this design could work. The colour of the font for the news ticker is taken from the ITV News logo. The logo may be a little big, but I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Constructive criticism is always appreciated, if you decide to give it a low rating, please explain why; I've tried very hard to work on the feedback I was previously given.

Alignment of elements is still a big issue

Have you seriously thought to yourself, 'would this appear on TV at 6am?'

If I was doing this, i would think not:

- there is too much white on screen, and that dark blue is not suitable for a 'breakfast' show.
- as been mentioned on every single one of your mocks, the wipes are just way to slow, you need to use a different animation, just anything other than dissolve or wipe. They're just to original.
- The presenter astons at the beginning 'wipe' on before the box has.
- the clock I think needs to be along with the logo.
- the white ticker doesn't work with white astons just above it.
- what the hell was the breaking news tunes...
- once the Tunisia headline 'wiped' on the person who had just tuned in wouldn't have known it was 'breaking news'
- the logo is way too big!

Just think about these for a beginning, any maybe have another go.

I'm not sure that this is an improvement over what's already on TV at all to be honest.

Safe areas - you still need to work on this:

Everything should be in the 16:9 title safe area at an absolute minimum. So you need to move the ticker up quite a bit. Ideally, critical graphics (like the clock) should be in the 4:3 area so that the old dears who don't have their TVs set up properly can see it.

Your text alignments are all over the place, so you need to work on this too.

Personally, I don't like text and straps going directly in to the logo either.

A key question to ask yourself is: "would these work on TV?" As it stands, the answer is no.

The wipes are around 0.2 seconds long...

A lot of what you have said is opinion, I think the dark blue works, GMB use a similar colour font. I like the clock where it is; where else could you incorporate it into this design? The white ticker 'works', you just may not like it. The logo is that size to incorporate everything else. Thank you for the feedback.

Safe area consideration isn't an opinion. You've got it wrong, and until you correct it then your design would never work on TV.

There's no need for it to be in 4:3, I accept the comments on 16:9 though. I may remove the clock entirely, many people are looking at phones or tablets. Does anybody actually look at the TV to get the time?

I'm very sorry, I'll constantly consider your needs all the time. Seriously, you don't have to look at them...

Remind me again who the person was who posted your mock on here - a forum known for being tough on people who don't consider the small details in a design - a forum that is specifically set up to critic other people's work... Seriously, if you don't want people to look at them, please don't feel you need to post in here.

If on the other hand, you want honest feed back - and that will include people saying your mocks aren't impressive - or giving you scores lower than you think you deserve - in an aim to improve your designs and skills, then please do continue to post, but please stop with the whining every time somebody says something bad about your work.

You asked for the constructive criticism, we've given you it.

dosxuk and AJ have both created a 'graphic' to show you what needs to be improved with this mock and then you moan back, honestly wouldn't be surprised if you were not older then 13.



You need to improve this mock, as well as all your others posted on here to fit in the safe areas, just because you have a 16:9 TV doesn't mean the rest of the country can afford one. If people use their phones or tablets that everyone can afford to buy, then why have you even put a clock on there may I ask? Digging yourself in a bigger hole.
