Good Morning Britain @ 8

Not mocked in quite a while, and only did this quick-ish one because I was messing around and trying to recreate the ITV 'folding background as they call it.

This is a mock for GMB at 8am. The programmes that GMB have taken inspiration from have openers for each hour as the programme gets lighter. GMB seems to get really really light after 8am, so I thought GMB should have one.

In my head, it was a lot slicker, and there was nicer music etc (don't ask why I chose that track, just picked at random!). Obviously, I've rehashed celeb stories from varies clips, so the wipes aren't perfect, and I wouldn't want to waste time working on something so small. In this mock, the titles are clips from the 2nd promo (news doesn't sleep), but in reality, a new version would be rendered every few weeks from the 8am slots.



EDIT: I'd also ask that if you have a better instrumental or another track that fits the titles better, then please tell me.

I thought that but then I thought that I should put it up to get it out of the way. The titles could be slicker, and have clips from the actual show .

So you thought it was a mess but threw it out anyway. This just makes people think you're a crap mocker (and they're not far wrong!) - look at some of the other projects in here that people have spent days, weeks or months on then look at your Powerpoint/Keynote/Vegas combo and think 'Is this on a par' - if the answer is no delete it and turn off your modem - We'll tell you when to turn it back on...

The changing music with each story didn't help. I liked the use of the GMB advert, as the prepare to go on air, think thats cool but apart from that its nothing that has required an effort at all! I would like to see this in a much slicker presentation. But it sounds like this was a quick 20 minutes effort that won't be improved on!

Ideally it would be different mixes of the GMB bed (Entertainment, World Cup etc) to fit the story, with songs inserted as appropriate. I would have the title music totally different, either a remix of the main open or something different.


I'd have used some clips from the advert, mixed in with clips of the lighter, funnier moments to reinforce the 'family' aspect of the presenting team.

I spent so long receiving criticism from people about how my five mock "had no effort" and that I was "churning out crap" maybe not from you but when I did in actual fact spend time on developing it only for you, someone who can actually mock well, to realise it was "crap" but upload it anyway is quite frankly pathetic. It seems you had an idea, thought of a better one, then thought of another but couldn't compose yourself and just through them all threw and this was the result.

Instead of picking out parts of peoples comments and say "I'd have used" why didn't you, then post it? Why didn't you accept it was crap, discover where the biggest problems lay - start with the constant changing of music and transitions - and then fix it. Once that was done you should have uploaded and voila you would have had something decent. Instead you have literally posted something even you don't think is any good and if someone else, especially a new user, had posted this you would have been on their case explaining how rubbish it was.

I don't think it's wholly bad and with a bit of effort and time put into it, it could have been actually ok. You somewhat have an idea "the family approach", capture that but make it slick and then post back. As I say, could be decent if you had worked on it harder.
