NOTE: ORIGINAL MOCK IN THIS POST. DEVELOPMENTS CONTINUE DOWN THE PAGE, INCLUDING NEW VERSION OF LOGO, ETC.

So, after looking at the current Discovery branding, and reading various threads here, which talk about what appears to be a mis-matched brand, I attempted to recreate the Discovery channel logo, and then bring the other channels in-line with that branding. The only element from the original logo I have used is the Globe. The font used is Museo Sans, which is similar to the actual font, but not identical.

So far, I've recreated the Discovery Channel, and have attempted to take Turbo and Science in-line with the main channel.

Here is the Discovery Channel logo, on it's own...

*

And now Turbo... The only difference intended is colour, and the text below the logo:

*

And, likewise for Science:

*

Finally, we have all the logos together:

*

I intend to expand on this, and I'm aware the Science logo seems wrong - I'll fix it ASAP. Comments and criticism is appreciated!

The height of the letters need looking at, as well as spacing, even I can hardly ready the 'Turbo' and 'Science' text underneath.
IMO they look better with separate identities, with subtle reminders that they are a Discovery channel.

Just realized I'd used the draft version of the logo, with the globe and D intact from the actual logo. This time, only the globe is used, and the rest of the logo is what I've recreated - again, with Museo Sans. For comparison, the top logo is the actual thing, and the bottom logo my recreation.

I'm not all that keen on the 'R', but...

All I can see are poor recreations of the real Discovery Channel logo.
