Daybreak Regional Handover Mock

I have made a mock to make a cleaner cut to the regions on Daybreak. The newsreader hands straight over to the regions but they have a bumper, a 'talent bumper' in this case, between the newsreader handover and the region taking over.

This talent bumper shows the laughs/fun that the Daybreak team had on their first day. Bumpers are commonly used in the US, rather than a simple, and extremely repetitive , branded sting. Bumpers may be a different take on introducing the programme, specific to a segment or to showcase certain parts of the team.

I restricted my choice of shots for the bumper as the good ones had straps on them, my original idea was to show reporters and correspondents in quick cuts but as I said, they had straps on them. I understand that the archive recording doesn't have straps or a clock on them.

Is this another one of those "mocks" where you really just wanted to show off that you have obtained access to the coveted Daybreak music?

No, the music is straight out of either the main Daybreak thread or the requests one, I've just re-cut it to make the sound I wanted. The bed is the opt bed, just re-cut. The opt bed is all of the different beds put together, bar the 'punchy' headlines bed. So to answer your question again, no it is not to showcase that I have obtained the music.

It does seem as if you have just done that to show of that you have the Daybreak theme but I am going to give some feedback anyway:

It looks poorly made, could you not have removed the clock and replace it with a watermark?
The idea of talent bumpers wouldn't work in the UK, especially for Daybreak because I think it is a fast-paced show, such a bumper would go against what the producers presumably want it to be.

The music was freely available on this. End of.

I don't understand what you mean by removing the clock?

It looks bad leaving the clock on screen. I am sure you could have done more than just blur it.

I could have scaled it and moved it down but that made everything look too big

It's just after 7am. I'm half asleep. The kids aren't getting ready for school. The dog needs feeding. A parcel's due to arrive any minute. My short needs ironing. The wife's skirt's in the tumble drier.
Cut the crap, give me a 5 second sting, and hand to my region for my news. Thanks.

Hear hear. If you think that the current sting is repetitive, this is 100x worse...

I don't get this at all.

Hope it filled up the Easter holidays! Rolling Eyes Seriously I don't get all the blurring of images and who would want to sit and watch a 45 second poorly edited 'montage'? Then cut's to a poorly edited jarring regional news music ending intro...

This took me 5 minutes... the 7 second sting covers daybreak handover and if wanted the region name too...
