I'm a big fan of some elements such as the DOG and straps - very clear, modern and colourful, I like them a lot. Not so keen on the logo and titles though, there's definitely an air of US shows from the early 00s.
Overall though I could see this looking nice on screen and clearly a big amount of thought and effort has gone into putting this together. 4/5 from me!
If you kept all the text you wrote before hand with out all the pictures, you would have won me over! You have captured Daybreak's faults and areas for improvement exactly and you've suggested some great ways to fix things. However, you're execution of these ideas hasn't quite lived up to what I thought I was going to see.
You've been innovative and creative, and your effort and attention to detail is great and rather refreshing but its not really an improvement on what Daybreak offer - ie the colours, which for me look garish and rather 'strictly come dancing'.
From what you said at the beginning of the mock, you clearly have great vision for the show,I'd love to see another concept!
Love these mocks, the whole design and colour scheme is lovely and it's really well done. Would love to see these animated and the accompanying set design....send them to Daybreak now!!
I really do not like this design. Gradients can stay where they belong, last decade. The colour scheme makes me feel sick, just have one or two colours not three and certainly not three with such a high contrast. The shape of the logo is horrendous, I believe the Daybreak logo should be text based and distinctive enough that it could be used in multiple rebrands. Then again nobody chooses to watch Daybreak so why bother designing new graphics for them, that goes for all Daybreak mockers out there.
Anyway, mock, technically very good given the incredibly low bar The Gallery has continued to set since 2003 but it's Daybreak so going to mark you down on principle. Countless mocks always in the cycle of GMTV/Daybreak/BBC Breakfast > BBC News > ITV > Sky (maybe not even News if you're lucky) and back to breakfast programming once more get to me so something different even if technically flawed (but not too flawed, there's still a standard to be achieved) will get my vote.
Less mocks, higher quality ones when they do come around would be much better. That's just me though wanting quality over quantity and not wanting to sift through **** to find gems. This ramble isn't even related to the mock so digressing, mock nice but Daybreak bad so it's a wash.
This looks absolutely fantastic. How long have you been mocking for? I've messed around and tried to make something of a broadcast standard, but I failed miserably. Any tips, perhaps?

I don't post very regularly. Indeed, I have a huge bunch of mocks that I've never posted, because I've never been satisfied that they would really work on screen. But I often take ideas from 'failed' mocks, and use them again in a new context. And eventually, when I do come up with something that I think really works, that's when I upload them for others to offer feedback on.
In my judgement, about the worst thing you can do in the Mock Designs forum is think that, just because you have an idea, everyone else will love you for posting something... anything. It has to be something that you genuinely believe could work on TV. That is, it actually has to look good!
In short, about the only suggestion I can offer is to keep practising.
