Daybreak

I always find it helpful to take a break during my designs, work on something else, then come back to it and I often look upon it differently somehow. Whilst doing this during my 5News mock, I thought I'd work on a Daybreak mock, de ja vu much? :L
Anyway... my design is mostly a recreation of the launch graphics but with a different colour scheme.

The yellow-on-gray text doesn't work. There's not enough contrast.

The clock doesn't line up with the aston text.

And what the heck is going on with the hideous borders round the text?

The title card is spot on...

...however, white text on an orange background only works when the areas of solid colour are large, the logo seems to disappear when its smaller especially when on an orange background. I recommend you use an additional colour other than the orange... purple is always good *smirks*

Change the text... 3d text or text with a keyline does not work on Astons, the text is too small to be anything other than a solid colour. Bearing in mind your text must be ledgible on small TV screens. It should also be high contrast to its background.

Why does the ticker stop at the edge of the clock? ...you have space... why does it not go right the way across the screen? ...the only reason to stop it is if there is something in the way.

You seem to be taking on board the information we are sharing, and improving your mocks as a result, so good work there, but still a long way to go.

Colour theory applies here, the titles look nice though.

It's not really part of my mock, but I thought I'd design a promotional picture for Christine & Adrian's last day.

It's not really fair for you to slam some text over a bunch of pictures and call that 'design'.

Who would have thought, all those pictures are of the same programme!
