More promising than the real logo, I think. Keep it up!

Before I jet off and design, the logos! Plain, Purple BG and a White logo. A and Y tightened.

Purple and white work, though not as well as the black and orange. The purple and orange doesn't quite work.

Keep it up Smile

How about orange on white? Nothing wrong with that is there.

Nope, not at all. The black background is what Fireworks gave it as I saved it. It was made on a transparent background

Coloured Caption

My first set of ideas. Not much there, just a caption (coloured logo and white), a ticker, and the TOTH/Headline graphic.

I'm not overly (God I hate that word) keen on the curve on the clock (specifically the one between the clock and the ticker) but otherwise looking really good. Very Happy

I do like this, and agree this is the best Daybreak mock done: simple, clean and straight to the point. GREAT!

Right, I'm going to embarrass myself asking this, but I don't know and think it would be better if I did. What's the resolution/size I should use, that is used in TV, so It doesn't look stupid. 720x480 I usually use.

Thanks Embarassed

AfterEffects says 1050 x 576 for SD PAL WS
1280 x 720 is HD [720]
1440 x 1080 is HD [1080]

I think I'll go with Ooh, I'll go 1440 x 1080 then, considering the new Daybreak will be in HD. Thank you Michael

Actually 1440x1080 would be anamorphic (16:9 squashed to 4:3), if anything use 1920x1080 as this would be 16:9, although its HD don't forget about safe areas (16:9 safe etc..)

... you can tell it's the summer holidays can't you? Rolling Eyes

Are there any Safe Area guides/templates out there too? Because I've done the res on these mocks wrong (1440x1080), so I want to do it again, but this time USING THE SAFE AREAS! And thanks for all your comments all Smile

There was a thread I made a few years ago, but that no longer works, however I've made a HD revision of the safe area guide, to give you an idea:
