Just a few thoughts of how I'd improve the new CNNI graphics launched earlier.
Firstly, the DOG has to change. I agree with others who've suggested the CNN logo should appear over the globe. I also think the globe should be larger, forming the background for the white box. Additionally, I think the programme/story graphics that appear next to the CNN logo should have a faint border around them, just as CNN US does.
(The "Your World Today" graphic is something I quickly knocked together - assuming new titles are launched, I'd expect these to be used to show the programme name)
In the round of edits made to the last graphic set, CNN made a big thing out of using a map to highlight the location of a guest or reporter being interviewed. Yet it doesn't appear this feature has been carried through, despite the fact the new graphics set has provided an obvious space for it to appear in!
I would also like to see the opening headlines and coming up sequences better signposted than they currently are. The last graphics set distinguished between headlines and stories quite well, and I think there is some merit in doing this. I also feel the 'Update' flipper should be used to promote what viewers can expect to see in the next 30 minutes.
