CiTV Opener / Closer 2002

Hi Guys,

Basically as it's the 30th Anniversary of CiTV, I've been recounting some of the old idents which the brand has used over the years. I then thought it'd be fun to try and recreate the 2002 Opener / Closer which ran from February to October. My little project however has not been without its problems. For one thing, there isn't any high quality copies of the 1998 logo online, so I had to re-create it from scratch. Secondly the video I used to study from is of decent quality, however as the footage is of such fast pace I had to try and decipher some elements the best I could (as some parts on the video were just a blurry mess). Also, because it's widescreen I've used all of the available space - so I've added a few more flowers around the side etc...

A very good recreation. 1 thing, the 'shuffling' of the letters 'C,I,T,V' looks very, cheap it goes on for too long maybe make it "shuffle" for 3 seconds then end of video, I might just be saying something that is un-correctable but it is the first time I have commented on a mock. Otherwise a great mock

I have to be honest, of all the idents to recreate from the 1998-2006 era, I think this is the one I would least liked to have seen recreated. It mainly seemed to be a stopgap between the 1999/2000 idents which were simply recoloured with a slightly darker blue background in late 2001, and the completely new late 2002/2003 idents.

That said however, this is still a great recreation and obviously is easier to recreate as there isn't as much animation going on. So yes, great start to 2013 and I look forward to seeing any evolution to this mock, especially as CITV presentation is one of the things that got me interested in TV pres to begin with.

Thanks for all the comments so far. I've updated the logo resolve at the end of the ident to feature the mini 'orbs' which then morph into the larger one (which is seen behind the logo). Only a small difference to the original video, however it was bugging me so I had to update it!

love it, well done even though it was my least fave idents of that era.

Very nice effort, and good work making it widescreen so we know it's not just a re-upload.

It would be nice though to see a bit of creativity back in this forum though - we seem to have an awful lot of recreations lately rather than original ideas, and it would be nice to see what people could come up with for example as an ident based around the new Citv logo.

I think the current logo has been the best since the 1998 logo, that superhero one was erm rubbish. I do think this new logo looks like it will be hard to beat the current look, but we shall see.

I'm not a fan of the current logo at all - the presentation looks OK, but always thought the logo rathered dated and can't really get beyond it being a big yellow blob in the corner of the screen.
