There is no doubt in my mind that this version of Slash TV's 'AM' is considerably more slick and polished than the original as designed by Cyberdude. I can also completely imagine seeing this on television (probably in America) which is sometimes difficult to achieve. However, for me, there are a number of elements about it that I'm not too keen on.
Firstly, the colours that you've used for the 'Slash' and 'AM' logo are in my opinion a little bit garish. While it's not that the colours don't work together, I would perhaps tone down some of the colours you've used and make them a little more subtle, particularly given it is supposed to be a morning programme.
Another element I'm less keen on is the fact that it looks very North American in style and I'm not really a fan of the style of graphics they use, and instead, prefer the style tends to be used in Europe. It's difficult to describe what it is that makes it 'feel' more North American but its probably elements like the use of lots of gradients rather than just having one colour and using a more 3D model for the weather icons rather than just flat (2D) symbols.
On another point, I think it's really useful to take inspiration from other news channels in order to come up with a set of graphics, and while you have recreated the style of the Global News graphics incredibly well, if, in reality, the programme was to launch I think the graphics between 'AM' and 'Global News' are simply far too similar (unless Slash happens to be owned by Global of course).
To sum up, a lot of the criticism I have given is down to personal preference (colours and style) and you have done an excellent job at creating a set of graphics for Slash TV in the style of Global News graphics. That said, I'd give the mock a 3/5 at the moment because of the issues I have with the colours and style but it's really nice to see someone else design some Slash TV graphics and to see how they turn out.

I think I'd have a hard time persuading them to buy it.
