A better Slash?

Just a few concepts... (August 2017)

I've been looking at the TVForum gallery for some time now and I was really disappointed at the quality of a few mocks, especially the 'Slash' concepts that have been lingering during these past few months. Though I do appreciate @cyberdude's ambition, there is no doubt all of his mocks suffered from significant fundamental flaws that was pointed out by several members.

Therefore, I've decided to take some measures in my own hand, and to 'reinvent' some of his concepts - rectifying those issues.

A mock of a mock!! Is this a gallery first?!
I particularly like the logo on the right and they feel pretty American but they're nice. Could you maybe make them 16:9 so they use the whole width of the screen? Nice though! Cyberdude, take note!

Hmm, very good work! However I would say that the gloss on some of the features is a bit too much and makes it look quite Web 2.0 rather than current

Reminds me of a ZX Spectrum. I don't really want to praise these in case cyberdude takes offence, but I will anyway. Good job.

Still hate the name though.

What is behind the name anyway?

Don't admit defeat. Use what TorontoCommons has created to give you an idea as to what standards you should try and achieve and as a sample for how you can fit branding into graphics.

Oh come on Cyberdude, you can easily match TorontoCommons in the mocks department. You've had plenty of feedback as to what you're doing wrong with what you've posted so far, just take it on board and use it. This is the sort of standard you ideally should aim for; you may not hit it on occasion but that's how we learn.

Just noticed something...
...this design is blatant plagiarism.
