Could network BBC2 get away with using this classic ident in 2015?
While I'm as much of a purist as anyone (and I don't think this improves on the original design vision), it's difficult to believe an ident with such vast quantities of blackspace would make it to air nowadays, in England.
Three targets: integrate the awkward box logo so it looks like it belongs, naturally fill the widescreen margins (to avoid the TV set auto-cropping issue), use the lights to give the impression of depth, as though the '2' is sat on the floor/table.
