Just because it's simple to make doesn't automatically make it awful. For what it's worth what you made looks nice.

I didn't say it was awful, I said it wasn't a mock. I don't see any point in showing the world stuff that anybody can do in a couple of minutes. If someone was to present that as a mock, I'd be expecting to see a whole family of logos, and examples of them in use on presentation. And for something that simple, it needs to be done right - in this case, I've not bothered doing any kerning adjustments, or done any actual design work - it's just a block of text. If you spend a little more time, you can make much more refined, interesting and creative images.

As it is, I don't have the time or inclination to develop it into a full mock. I've got enough actual design & integration work to do for graphics that are being used for real at the moment without taking on a "BBC rebrand" project too.

I understand that, but it would have been nice!

Well you can see exactly how I made it, feel free to do your own version.

I would have loved to, if I had the programmes to do it.

Just get GIMP and give yourself plenty of practise as well as paying attention to YouTube tutorials, better starting point than scribbling an R next to an ITN logo in MSPaint. If you really have an idea in your head, surely it can't be that difficult to bring it to life in some form.

You don't need expensive software to put a bit of text and an imported logo onto a gradient background. GIMP will do it, Paint.Net will do it. Both are free and readily available.

My computer is all fixed, I am ready to resopnd to criticism and mock again!

It does, what's wrong with that?

Well the bottom two logos contradict the guidelines for a start.

I'll fix the logos tonight!

I wouldn't call it a mock. It takes less than 2 minutes to make from scratch.

I'm trying to make a simple template for the logo. Also, the font size I will work on for the channels with the longer names. And I'm doing new promo endboards and stuff.
Anyway, I'm going to open photoshop and do it!

I dont like the news one but the BBC One style links are brilliant, and I can see them working.

BBC Arts contradicts the guidelines so it fit in the box.
The blur in the last three programmes will unblur when the programme is being said.
I fixed the brightness in all logos (except BBC News to show distinction from BBC One).
If you want BBC One in another colour still, sing out and I will try!

Then make the blooming box bigger. Or change your guidelines.

If you can't make four simple logos without breaking the guidelines you set, you either need to start over or give up.

Why display all 4 logos as one image, meaning you have to constrain two of them to fit? Post 4 images under one another and have them all abiding by your guidelines. I still don't think News is different enough from ONE to look good. Give one of them a different colour or make the shades of red more obvious than what you have. Also, shouldn't the BBC logo line up with the start of the A in Arts instead of floating over the middle of it? The BBC logo and the left line of N in News aren't aligned either. They also wouldn't use 24 hour clock on menus etc., they always use 12 hour with an AM or PM suffix.
