I honestly want this model.
Not to naughtily post it on the internet like an evil person, but to look at it. It's like a diorama!

Thanks, N8 has always been my favourite set and I endeavoured to make it as accurate as possible. When I've finished all the sets I might get around to creating a BBC News Set Index in the style of the BBC News Theme Index. It's just there's a lot to do and I find recreations take longer and are much harder than coming up with new sets.

There was something about N8. The fact that it was effectively just office space and you could hear the newsroom in the background made it really suited to News 24. Studio E just feels too polished for a rolling news channel, and N6 was lifeless.

Brilliant recreations as usual!

I think N6's problem was that it was used primarily as a stop gap for the move to NBH as at the time they were expecting to be in less than three years, little did they know they would spend 5 years in a box. Though TC7 and N6 were pretty dull designs I think they could be used well like - Newsnight always used the set well, the News Channel did pretty much nothing throughout the 5 years in N6 to make it visually interesting. It was a shame they essentially mothballed N9, that could have been used for something in the final years other than back up.

One of Studio E's problems is that it seems like the design is that the right hand side of the set (looking towards the Newsroom) is just a bit of an afterthought and a little messy. It would appear BDA spent a lot of time designing Studio B and C which are fantastic sets but by Studio E and definitely Studio D they couldn't really be bothered. Although Studio D comes across as an entirely last minute job with an overly simplistic design and poor use of space.

I know I said I wouldn't, but I started trying to work out the accurate camera track dimensions for Studio C and needed a reference point and just got carried away...

The thing I find with Maxwell is I can get a more convincing red lightbox colour if I use a brown colour for the acrylic like in the real studios, but every other colour comes out weird and white just illuminates the brown colour. If anyone knows how to perfect lightboxes it would be much appreciated.
