The premise behind these mocks is what would BBC regional news in the 1970's would have looked like if Nationwide had never existed and it's short lived successor Sixty Minutes was on instead?

I'll stick to my version of Sixty Minutes being a purely local news bulletin/features programme with the BBC Evening News maintaining its separate 5.40 timeslot.

(NB: Before the mock I wish to acknowledge the sources of some on the materials used. For the Sixty Minutes theme tune and photos of local bulletins I took them from TV Ark. Many thanks and if anyone has any copyright concerns then please let me know and I will remove them.)

Right then. Here we go.

The first mock is a silent one based on what Sixty Minutes could have looked like in the Southwest.

Next is a title sequence with audio. This version included the names of the local programmes in the sequence.

This video shows how the weekend bulletins kept the generic Sixty Minutes look and theme. This is for the revamped Southeast at Six with local "globe" ident:

The final one for now shows how the local bulletins handed over to London:

I've only seen the last two videos, and all I am saying is; London ≠ <-(does not equal sign) the whole of the South East. Also Look North covers more or rather less than the Yorkshire and Humber government region.

Also very sure that you would need to use a time machine in the 1970s to use have Calibri, created in the 2000s.
