I'm just spitballing here... what if the BBC changed all their channels to just have "B" in their names? Personally I don't think it would work... what do you think?

Returning to numerals is a good start, but keeping the colours consistent with their current identities (or recent ones) means your design is rooted in the 90s in some cases.
Why does the box need to be there to begin with? Is there something abstract you could do with the numeral itself to reflect personality?

More BBC logo concepts. I kept the symbols for Alba and Scotland so it didn't get too stale. Also, the BBC Video logo has a gradient.
