I prefer sans-serif, but I agree here - and looking at it, I'm sure it's the proportions.
The plus with the original typeface is that the more bold, rounded appearance works better to fit with the 'O' - for the whole logo to form a 'One' more naturally. The revised logo just doesn't work in that same way.
If a sans-serif version of either the original or something similar to it is possible to use, maybe look at that as an option?
The new font has ruined it for me, it's the original that I liked.
