BBC News TVC Studio Recreations V2

Having gone back and looked at my earlier set recreations I can see that they are terrible - but I've been out with a magnifying glass, noting down dimensions and set details. Here are a few examples of my new Set Recreations (hopefully very accurate) of BBC N6, N8, N9 and TC7 from across the years. Hope you enjoy.

Sets here are presented in an unlit, unrendered form - we have been over this again and again - I like my renderer, it just takes ages so I only like using it for a finished project - and hopefully with your feedback the mock can be improved and taken forwards.

Title Caps are courtesy of the wonderful TV Ark and TV Live.

Maybe you should render them first before getting people's opinions.

Also, the Newsnight one is in TC7 and not N9.

I already explained that above, my renderer takes so long so I only want to use it to a finished product, plus it doesn't actually affect the set does it - it is after all a set recreation and not a lighting set-up recreation. I've done a few test renders if you want a look but they are quite grainy.

DTV, can you post a screenshot of your Maxwell settings? I'm still convinced there's an obvious reason why it takes hours for it to render properly.

That render is about SL:11.50 and took about 50 Minutes.

But can I have some actual comments about the recreation and not about my renderer.

I would criticise the table in this one though...


But overall, it really is good.

The moudly people ruin it but apart from that they're alright.

You wouldn't be able to upload the Sketchup files for these models would you? They look really good.

Cheers for that. One thing I can spot is the fStop - try setting it to 48 when you next run it - it should speed things up a bit.

These are absolutely awesome, especially the BBC World 2000-2006 ones. Any chance you could upload them to 3D warehouse for us to get a better look at the dimensions and the like?
