BBC News Suite - Mock Opening Title Sequences

I made these a couple of years ago. They are a suite of BBC News Opening Title Sequences - for BBC News, BBC World, BBC Regional News, and BBC Breakfast. They each share a common visual theme (the spinning globe and animating 'discs') but the colour and animation styles vary between each title sequence.

We recently converted these designed into a set of opening titles for a student news channel at Ravensbourne College. They were also praised by top US design strategist, Steve Mehallo in one of his blogs about international news graphics, saying he prefered them over CNN's and the real BBC News title sequences themselves!

It's a good effort, but I hate the globe, it's too odd and real looking for BBC News, compared to the current globe and the ones post 2000.

It's also too dark for BBC Breakfast, and the globe is totally unneeded for regional news titles.

I disagree with him on this, these are just not what the BBC would use or anything a designer in the UK would create or call them better than the current BBC News title.

Not a fan, especially the Breakfast one. They're lacking depth and colour. For another brief they could work, but I don't think they suit the BBC.

I don't like the globe, also I think the background could be improved- at the moment it's literally just a grey/white expanse, not particularly pleasing on the eye
