Nothing we haven't seen before, though I do feel the astons look much better with an image on the RHS rather than just plain.
Really need to see people bringing their own ideas to this forum though rather than just implementing very minor tweaks to existing brands, especially one as tired as BBC News.

How can I put this.
This is BBC News at the moment.

And this is what you've done.

It's different, but it's the same. You've not done anything to improve or further the brand, the identity, the nature or the taste and texture of the graphic design. You've basically changed one element - the font - and sold it as a whole new look. You're a fraud and a delusionist if you think that this is what mocking - and design in general - is all about.
But you say it's not a recreation because it's different, yet you say it's not different

LOL. I can't believe you've said this when your entire work is an attempt to copy an existing design. I posted that image to show what you could get if you align your text properly, choose more appropriate font weights / sizes and apply sensible padding around elements. I stated it took a few minutes because a) it's a copy of an existing design and b) I've not spent loads of time sorting it completely (I forgot to centre the "HEADLINES" text, the BBC News logo is one of the misshapen ones everyone has (and always gets picked up on), I've still got full saturation red in there, I've not checked safe areas, etc) - it's a demo rather than a completed mock. I chose to post an image as it's an awful lot easier to demonstrate the issues I brought up in an image than just with text.
I would apologise for posting it, but no. I did it for your benefit, not mine, and if you don't want that then that's your problem, not mine.
Sorry, I wasn't aware I was supposed to be drawing them to be a particular size.
And the sum total of those ideas and possibilities was to copy what is already there, with a worse font?

Comments on the more recent images:
- gradient on the first newsday image looks horrible
- your ticker text is no where near aligned vertically
- the HEADLINES ticker text isn't aligned vertically or horizontally
- the text rendering has got worse
- the BBC News logo has got worse
- the clock in the earlier images had 3 digits (8:30), the newsday one has 4 (01:00)
- newsday (new) seems to have orange and light blue / green as it's colours. Why have you chosen pink for it's bug?
[OT: I think we need to add the Wikipedia AGF policy as a rule to the gallery]
Can I ask, personally, not just you but for anyone else who does, can you stop saying 'it only took me five minutes' and posting an image of it. because even though your proving a point your still basically just copying it, not doing it from scratch

and in yours which you posted above the boxes aren't even the right size

But still even before I made everything I thought of ideas and possibilities.

The spacing between the boxes and text is horrid!
You can tell that you have not spent much time or thought on this mock, if you say that you have had many different ideas, then why not post a variety and let the guys on here decide with what you could use to continue on with.
I know you credited BBCLDN, mdtauk and myself, but it once again shows you have not put much thought into this mock if you've been using ideas from OTHER peoples mocks, am I right?
This needs a major rethink and spacing needs to be sorted.

OK, so I've tried a few layouts some with the stripped logo and a few with the boxed logo.
I've decided on this one with the box. (I think I'll start doing the videos again, as the renders always turn out rubbish, so these are the last images I'll do) I know it's nothing much now but when animated it looks better than a still image.

To me it just looks like you've copied this mock... http://www.tvforum.co.uk/thegallery/bbc-news-onscreen-graphics-32951/

I dont remember seeing it either... but i have seen similar... repeatedly... from many different users.
If you have a look back in the gallery you'll see the BBC News Astons have been done to death many many times, both better and worse than your mock. The Mock HarryBNF linked is on page 20 and there are countless more that have been archived.
If you are going to continue with this mock i suggest you take a look at what others have done so as not to repeat their work. There could also be some useful advice in those threads that could be applied to your work.
From experience in this gallery i dont think anything short of animation is going to improve this mock or your rating so its probably better if you ditch it and reallocate your time to something new.
1/5 - Lacks originality. Execution is sloppy, but you improved it in your page 2 additions.

Good idea, but the thing is I feel that eventually I will create a new mock and it will look like someone else's without me knowing.
I think that is what's hard so many idea's have been tried that eventually, you end up copying someone else's work without knowing (meaning it looks like someone else's design but you made it from scratch.)
