jack or most likely it would just go past their heads because most people aren't that bothered with what they see onscreen.

Right. The idea is to convey information, Joe Public may not be savvy to graphics, but it should be designed so that it conveys but be distinctive.

Ill be honest, by removing the news footage along with the reporters, you've robbed the countdown of it's emotive power. A flashing police convoy behind a frantic news reporter is far more effective than Victoria Derbyshire walking to a touch screen. It also takes away the feeling that what people are watching is a news channel which aims to be first for breaking news output - well, at least that's what it is supposed to be.

Yet a big 90 second countdown on a background is emotive enough

Ok, starting Version 10.1, I'm taking on board comments and improvements to hopefully help bump up the ratings, i've started by making the BBC News and Breakfast titles looking less 'unfinished and storyboard-like', so i've added the place names that are shown on the current titles of BBC News and Breakfast, i've also done them in their alternate colours to add a bit more 'excitement' to them so a few rings will come from the corners.
Note: DavidWhitfield point out to me that i accidentally misspelled 'Edinburgh' so that is noted (i spelt it 'ENDIN' by mistake

I've also had go at trying to make 'The Film Review' titles a bit better, i would say for Ver.2 of this I will probably redo the pieces of film and spend a bit more time on animating them, but i feel the slight modification (which some of you will think they aren't a modification at all) i have done is alright for now, but i do have plans to further improve them.

As you can see i mainly focused on titles, but i will try and work on further graphics, I do plan to keep "the jarring gradients" as i personally like them and my mock should be something that i can take advice on and improve but still like myself and i like the gradient idea that i chose to do.
I am in the process of recreating and adapting the 'pushback' and will hopefully be able to post that soon.

I'd say the Film Review titles are 100% better than the others, down to their simplicity, the others are just so full of stuff. For BBC News I don't like the globe, never was a fan of the red and blue combo or the pulses and the cities just don't feel as well done and the current titles.
For BBC Breakfast, just about the same as above, but the globe's ring are just too fast at around 8 seconds

Alright, I unfortunately cannot alter the globes in anyway as as i said on my first post, i thought i would try AfterEffects just to please the people who always say:

From My Lorraine Mock:
I disagree - only because the quality of the output isn't that fab. Try recreating it in AfterEffects or something similar!

I only got a trial version and i WON'T be using it again as i didn't really like it, it wasn't that complicated though, hard to grasp at first but you get their in the end.

I'm glad you think 'The Film Review' titles are better.

Why WON'T you be using it again? Why didn't you like it? If its not that complicated and one of the most powerful compositing applications out there?

Stop designing. After Effects is industry standard even for the most basic level of design. You need to learn to like it.

It looks as if you've just made it worse, the edge on globe looks like as if you just used a chroma key to get the background; the place names need to have their transparency faded and the lines between them to make them work as of now, it just looks like some text floating around.

i WON'T be using it again as i didn't really like it

What? That's like you being an artist and saying

"I really don't like using the paintbrush and i really didn't like it, so I'm not going to use it again"

I won't be using it as I don't have any money to purchase it (even per month), I'm probably not going to get use it most of the time anyway, I would need a better laptop or computer. I do say not that complicated but I suppose I only tried one type of animation, so I suppose its an overstatement.

If I want to design I have the right to design, This is a mock, even though it should try to be imaginable on TV, it doesn't have to be made with "industry standard" software, it's pretend and nothing seen on here is ever going to be seen on TV.

You would be right I have chroma-keyed and there is nothing wrong with that, I'm trying to improve my mock and that is the way in which I tried to improve it. The place names are already 50% transparent so if you them to be invisible, i'll go ahead.

"I tried some Marmite and I really didn't like it, so I'm not going to have it again" - Makes perfect sense.

Put it this way, in my job I work with After Effects everyday. If you're wanting to design/utilise a On air graphics package. Thats the software to go to. It doesn't make any sense throwing in the towel.

Yes, but I am not a professional, so I do not need to use software like that, like I said I wouldn't even use it everyday. How I am "throwing in the towel"

Because After Effects is a **fundamental** **industry standard** way of animating graphics.
