So, having thought about my design of the World News countdown, I started to think "What if they brought back the break filler?", and, as well as that, "What would it look like?"
I asked one of my friends how he imagined it could look, and he suggested the 2003-07 style. Now, I wasn't sure about it, at first, since I prefer the 2000-02 look, but he thought it was too simple. So, I decided to get to work, looking at reference from YouTube videos, and also, trying to use the colour scheme for my design, and the News Channel look which I've adopted.
Now, there used to be a link for the world news, on the top right-hand side, but I got rid of this, having shortened the main bar to fit the information screen. I think it looks better, but then again, others may think otherwise...
`
By the way, some of these information screens are blank, because you could imagine what the text would be, and the general idea for the round diagonal corner rectangle's text.
For the weather round rectangle, I decided to include MeteoGroup's logo, since they are the main provider of the BBC Weather's on-screen graphics, so, it felt only right to do so. Also, this is where I decided to take a leaf from the 'Coming Up' menu of the 2000 look, since it would have been a tad complicated, in my opinion, to figure out the individual countries' timetables of programming, so to say.
Now, I have issues with the "On this day" rectangle, since the information text appears to be wonky, in places - this is due to WPS being a little complicated, and I tried my best to rectify this oddity.
Now, this is one of my inventions for a new topic, although this could be changed, upon your suggestions and feedback, if necessary.
With the usual disclaimer that feedback from everyone is welcome, I hope you like this!
(P.S: This comes under my custom design of BBC News since the World News channel is the sister service of the News Channel, and owing to the fact that I designed the World News countdown - as I said, I didn't want to leave it out, and make it seem inconsistent with the NC.)
