BBC News Channel - Countdown (Night)

A mock opening countdown sequence for the BBC News Channel. The idea is that a selection of different sequences would exist - their use being determined by the time of day. This is obviously a night-time version. I can have a go at a day-time one if people are interested?

It is good, the only problem I have is the way the logo animates on at the end. It should be a more 'dramatic' entrance IMO.

I like! It reminds me of the old yellow Tonight titles.

What sort of thing do you have in mind?

It should come in with the music imo.

It should appear on a beat of the music, or when it resolves. Such as coming in at the thunderclap at -3 seconds with a simple hard cut effect, or it come in on the last pip with a dissolve-style entrance. Happy?

Lovely! I like the fact that the countdown is slightly more mellow (for want of a better word) than the current one, both with the streams and the music. It would be nice to see a slightly calmer nighttime countdown... I suppose a less 'urban' selection of videos would avoid any complaints to Newswatch, but as a concept it's great!

I really like the idea of this. Did you create the music yourself too? I love the way it "holds" and echoes at the end for the logo reveal, very classy. Just the visual reveal of the logo could use some tweaking in timing and punchiness as has been mentioned.

One practical issue that comes to mind is that the actual overnight BBC News Channel hours are simulcast worldwide, making the nighttime look perhaps less appropriate, but it does look great!

Only the actual programme content is shared, World continue to show their own pres, including countdown.
