Here's a quick idea I had for a new look BBC NEWS Studio.
I wanted to have a go at creating a news studio that included the BBC coat of arms like BBC News had during the 1990's and also include the color Blue somewhere withing the studio.
I haven't totally rendered these yet as I wanted to receive some feedback to see if it was worth continuing or not.
I just can't see what you were thinking - the 90s set looks a million times better than this, black/grey never really looks good, even with splashes of colour while the panel type set just doesn't look like anything we've seen on (proper) TV this century.
Doesn't fit in these times. The coat of arms seems like an ancient thing outdated now and the whole thing is too dark. Its like one of those "Tomorrowland!" shows you saw 30 years ago.
Agreed, it looks dated. The coat of arms is probably unlikely to be used by the BBC again.
BBC's main colour is red. Grey seems depressing (imo).
Have a look at modern news sets. Try to evolve the 90's news set (getting rid of coat of arms and whatnot) to see what it would've looked like today.
2 stars. Have another crack at this.
I would say though it's dated in this attempt, the coat of arms itself doesn't have to be - indeed it still looks quite modern in the 1990s clips even by todays standards. I think it would be used in a subtle way rather than front and centre, but it could work but needs to be in a 3D environment, rather than 2D on a backdrop.
