I know Gotham is in my signature, but for the news brief, it doesn't work. It looks slightly youthful and the Daily Mail would be churning headlines every day about how the BBC are patronising us and acting smugly about their 'TV tax'.
Narrow/Condensed is an improvement it has to be said, but still wouldn't go with it.

Love the Broadcasting House shot and this is all in all a very nice package - and I completely disagree with the people saying you should stick to red. Astons very nice too - simple but effective.
Some updates.
The countdown, which would be based on time/speed again rather than reporters. The menu would disappear at the ten second mark, as in 2003.

On-screen graphics. Inspired by ABC Australia's current look. simple but different to the current batch of astons. Breaking is a bold yellow to attract attention. I'll add more after feedback.

All I have to say that these new astons are just class.
The tones of the lighter Breakfast title aston do make an enlightened and much needed change to it. The colours for this is a little similar although much brighter. The eye in the middle of the globe is best kept out IMO as it takes up a lot of space.
It will look well IMO when in a HD studio environment.

They are very similar, but I don't think it is deliberate... Both BTW are superb.
