BBC Channel Logo idea

I have been tinkering with this idea for a while... ECP page 2 (September 2013)

Each section would highlight as the announcer talks about it, the middle section highlighted in this example.

An interesting idea. On stills alone, I'm not sure about the whole concept with the blank square blocks. They're probably more reminiscent of ITV to me - such as Presentation circa a decade ago, or the 70s LWT bumper - but would be good to see an animation to show how this would work on screen.

The only thing that I would say doesn't quite work is the font choice for the numerals... Everything else seems okay. The ECP design is the best element of this idea so far IMO; looks good.

I think it always helps to see logos in use - that image above should explain to some extent how the three forms of the logo would be used. I no longer have the software available to animate things, however.

The idea of the squares is good, but I'm unsure of the positioning of the numbers, especially when they're the same size as the BBC logo, and the channel name usually has to be more prominent than the network logo.

I think the black letters in the BBC logo needs to be made transparent. It stands out far too much with it being black.
