I've never liked BBC News' "orb flying through space at various angles" look, but this is the closest it has ever come to a. making sense and b. looking good.

The opening shot, whether it's eyes opening, or the sun rising, or the curtains being pulled back - it just screams morning. It's so well observed and executed, and if anything makes me disappointed that the BBC didn't bother to put the slightest bit of thought into their graphics.

A great piece of work Martin.

Common knowledge that in the morning the world is made of segregated circles and spins at 50001012312341982374910873098132419803074109mph the wrong way and glows into outer space! The BBC did observe it...

I'm not sure what you're getting at with that, but what I meant by my comment was that there's nothing about the BBC's current Breakfast titles, or the ones they replaced, that is particularly good or creative. They're a basic reversioning of the main BBC News titles, which themselves are pretty shoddy.

Martin's reversion on the other hand, actually has stylistic elements symbolic of morning, sunrise. So to me, they are stylistically better.

That's what I was saying, the BBC got it so wrong and Martin, an outsider with an eye for detail got it so perfect.

But I was taking the typical TVF route of defending the BBC because they're the BBC.

I don't feel any need to defend the BBC... their Official Breakfast titles are craptacular... Martin's are massively better.

Who'd have thought a mock could be better than the original... Shocked ...and yet here we have it.
