BBC re-branding V4

It is a bit different, but that's part of what I am going for. I am just exploring ideas, so I am not wedded to anything. I have shared most of of the ideas over the past few years when I have attempted to explore ideas. I have ruled a lot of ideas out, but there are some things I feel have potential. Outlined boxes instead of coloured ones. And I have gone too and fro from a single font for all logos, and giving each logo it's own font.

Other than the fact that I can't cope without BBC One being red, these graphics are good. I'd like to see them in colour as soon as you can

I see the Logos as being presented without colour. So more like the 1997 style, the logo in black or white. But again, I have not moved onto how they will be layed out on various graphics.

I love the animations! It keeps part of the current branding for both channels and makes the box system visually interesting rather than the fade of the old boxes.
I agree with some about the colouring of BBC One. Could you move towards a more red-orange colour?

I like the left side straps. I imagine them sliding to the left to reveal information and then back to the centre with the logo ending and starting each trailer/starting idents flowing nicely between them.

The coloured box ideas are older ones, and I moved on to outlined boxes, and not being so rigid with the colour. Alongside the logos I looked at the other channel brands in the UK (ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5) I tried to look at colours for the BBC which stood out among the others, but the colours are something I would consider more when defining the individual channel styles.



Just coloured boxes with the logo, was something I wanted to move away from.

Fair play, and I think they work well. I'm liking the individual font choices which seem to hark back to previous logos.

This might sound strange, but I really love the BBC Two logo - there's something really attractive to my eye about the "W" in the typeface you've chosen for the TWO. (That said, I'm less keen on the typeface for BBC Four - the "R" doesn't look right to me.)

As for the animations, I love the BBC Two box formation as well - a clever and well-executed inclusion of the numeric 2.

I am toying with the BBC Four formation animation. I am not entirely happy with it so far. I may have to rethink it.
