The quest for a strong rebrand concept continues!

Some great stuff there, well done. Particularly like the trailers and menu images.

• Overall it's quite good. I like the main logo but feel the shadows are a bit powerpointy, BBC one looks like a fake logo (no offence), BBC2 looks nice, BBC4 seems to bold to me and BBC3 doesn't really fit with the others.

• Foreign, Scotland and News logos look nice but the America and News colours should be swapped in my opinion. BBC Sport is a real letdown here I'm afraid the grey and yellow really don't mix.

• Big big fan of the Kids channels logos, they now look uniform yet unique in their own right but I can't see the surrounding circle working well.

• iPlayer and sounds look really out of place and the S in sounds isn't the same weight as the text and weather doesn't look quite right either.

• The 'Nations' logos don't look nice with the shadows IMO and the colours look a bit bright especially for NI.

• The BBC Radio logos are brilliant! So simple, fresh and modern yet keeping a sense of continuity. I'd like to see how Radio 5 would look without the live (5live sports extra turned into 5sport) and how 6 would look without the music.

• BBC one trailers look simple but don't quite have enough grab in my opinion.

• The cross channel promotion is a standout highlight for me.

• The studios endboard is brilliantly minimalistic and polished.

• Overall this is good. With some absolutely superb elements and some real letdowns IMO.

• 3/5 but could easily be turned into a 5 with just a few tweaks and you've clearly put a lot of time and effort into this. Great work.

Thanks for your opinion, by the way! Smile I'll tweak those aforementioned features when I get a chance.

Cool. Look forward to seeing the progression 😁

Which reminds me: I think I just had an idea about what I could do to fix BBC Sport! Seeing that yellow does look pretty awkward without a box, would recoloring it altogether (my pick: dark blue with hint of grey) work?

Possibly. I think having yellow and black would work but it's worth giving blue a go. I think it would need to be a fairly soft blue (akin to that of this forum)

I love the cross promotional trailer but not a fan of the rounded blocks - just looks dated and inferior to what it would replace.
Turns out nobody had 2020 vision.

I really like this, my only complaint is, like Brekkie said, I think the rounded blocks look a bit dated. My suggestion would be to make the blocks slightly less rounded.

Other than that, I really like this concept, a big step up from version 1!

I always look forward to seeing your work, so was excited to see this thread appear. I agree with the others in terms of still giving us familiarity with the new corporate logo but giving it the modernisation that it desperately needs!

Glad that you went for the glow in your use of colour rather than the Red, Blue, Green text as I feel this looks dated.

The main channels look great, I think my one pet peeve is how the four channels switch between upper and lower case but I like the personality for Three and Four.

I’m not sold on the regional variations, do these need to be in colour or could it just be used in black? When do these actually appear on-screen? I assumed this was just in conjunction to production rather than actual on screen brands?

Sport, as others said is meh with the grey. I think either switch it to a gold or try another colour if you’re not looking to do the black and yellow. I like the iPlayer logo still but I’m put off that the IP is a different font to the ‘layer’. Weather also seems to be separate which I find odd, I wasn’t overly keen on how it looked on app with the colouring as it seemed to blend.

Love your radio logos! Far more consistent bar one on the regional side. I love how you play with shapes in this rebrand, the squircle blocks and then the circle for sub branding of radio and children’s programming.

Studios and the cross promo are amazing, probably my favourite pieces from here. The One branding does feel quite bare, I would love to see something more bold from BBC One with the step into modernisation. I’m also not a massive fan of the ECP but that’s just my general opinion of how it’s position in real life than your actual work - have you ever thought about doing it akin to E4 so it doesn’t take up as much of the screen?

Love that you’ve persisted with this and you always give us so much to look at. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

Thanks for your opinions, especially regarding the blocks. Thumbs up

Well, I've just evaluated BBC Sport a little bit further, and based on comments, I've decided to re-evaluate its color scheme. Below are five different ideas:
*

Let's break them down a little bit. Gold and Orange seem slightly more logical to me if I'm intent on avoiding boxed logos. Navy Blue seems a bit Eurosport-ish, but that and a soft blue one (which I did tactically to avoid BBC Alba) would make more logical sense to be the yang to BBC News' yin. Lastly, the Green color scheme is admittedly a bit similar to that of what ITV sport would use, but it still has a shot.

Well, your thoughts are welcome of which of the five colors is best. Smile

I think gold is my favourite and seems like a natural evolution but for a complete revamp, I actually really like the lime green. I feel like it fits in with the vibe of 5 Sports Live Xtra and just feels quite fresh.

Try the yellow you were already using and either black or white. The other colours seem too Powerpointy

Not too sure how a colour can 'seem PowerPointy' but I do agree with the notion that black and yellow would be an improvement on your current yellow and grey colouring for BBC Sport in terms of legibility.
Guess who's big in the back time!

Good point. Well, I've just tried yellow again, but changing the BBC text to black. Is this any better?
