I think there's too much space around the BBC letters when in all in one box and it makes them look off no matter what you do around it, and so small compared to the channel name so it'll always look strange when you see them beside one another. Perhaps the letters in a rectangle instead and with the channel name and BBC letters the same size?

I know that the BBC letters are small as compared to the channel names, but I'll see what I can do. If I where to do that though, It would be predominantly tricky, as I've legitimately began work on the idents with the current redesign. I should say that I've had a whole history of reinventing the BBC's logo with the Reith font, so I can understand the pressure.

I've loaded my idea for the boxless BBC logo up in a photo editor and added the individual channel logos less the BBC blocks and it is really hard to get them to look good beside anything, even the current BBC logo. They just don't look right, every channel has their own rules for the logo look, size, placement and as a DOG and it makes creating things around them to bring some uniformity to the network almost impossible. The logos themselves are the main things that need sorting and the the elements built around it that can hopefully be amended and personalised for each channel but still distinctive enough that they seem different.

Well, thanks for the advice. Anyways, I'm just experimenting on how the current BBC branding can be amended when absolutely necessary. Click here to see an exclusive behind-the-scenes look of the creative process:

Note: I currently have no plans to replace the branding... yet. I put a lot of hard work to perfect this, so I'm gonna need some time with these designs as is.

Well, it’s just a prototype. That’s what you call experimenting. Wink

Yeah, maybe it could.

Strangely enough, it feels like the channels fonts go from light to bold (BBC One to BBC Three) even though I'm sure that wasn't your intention.

Probably not, but y'know, gotta make it look perfect.

Anyways, I still have idents, a redesigned BBC website and BBC News pres on my to-do list.

Can you do a redesigned bbc iPlayer? Or is that a later project? I would suggest doing a redesigned bbc earth

A redesigned iPlayer is at a later part of the road in terms of this project. I’ll consider what to do in regards to BBC Earth (which is of course, the occasional brand to BBC’s natrual history programming).
