You shouldn't have to tell us that you're not cocky or arrogant, it should be evident in the way that you communicate with us in the first place.
People will be much more receptive to your work and much more willing to offer decent, constructive feedback if you make the changes that you're suggesting to your attitude.
Your work isn't bad by any means, but is also isn't perfect , so providing you're willing to accept this, and you're open to taking on board people's criticisms as well as accepting their praise, then you'll get along much better going forward.

Very good point indeed. Thanks for the advice! Wink

This post will be controversial but I have to make my feelings clear

Several days ago I decided not to comment further because I genuinely didn't believe that you were going to moderate your attitude. But I feel I have to break that silence.

Now I will admit or perhaps readmit that I am a crap mocker and I understand that. My earstwhile namesake Neil Jones kept stressing the need to practice. Now I will admit or readmit that that took a while to sink in what he (and others) were saying because I have Aspergers syndrome.

I have to ask myself whether you are arrogant or have Aspergers or have both. Your references to some of your mocks as masterpieces wasn't just laughable it was also insulting. There are some truly superb mock designers on TVF and yes while you have some abilities and have some made some passable mocks to refer to them as masterpieces is ridiculous.

I've noticed that many users have made very respectful and constructive comments and you have either not listened or it hasn't sunk in. I don't know because I don't know you and to be brutally honest I don't wish to.

What I am about to say is going to cause a row and may even lead to me being kicked or banned. This will be my last comment on this thread and while I can't tell anyone what to do I suggest to everyone else that they stop commenting as well.

There is an old saying "Actions speak louder than words" You claim that you will no longer be arrogant. Well show us and we will treat you with respect. Continue to act like Billy Big Balls and you'll be talking to yourself.

Several days ago I and another user who I will not name out of respect decided not to comment any further on this thread. However we decided individually to do so because in all honesty neither of us believed that you were going to moderate your attitude.

Don't worry, I'll listen to constructive feedback properly in future, and I'll never again show signs of arrogance (like refer to my "passive" mocks as "masterpieces", among other things) again. I don't want my words to come to any row of any kind.

I'd say it's better to do it than just say it.

I think your website idea is quite a weak. It does look cleaner than the current one but the font sizes and widths don't match with each other and it makes the whole thing look off. The CBBC logo looks like CBBCBBC and doesn't look as fun enticing or Kid friendly as the current iteration.

The point about the seriousness of the logo and how it would look when dispalyed in the real world is one that should be thought about with a company so famous. I can't honestly see the BBC switching to something like this as the blocks are so famous. I can however see them making the text reith or rounding the boxes slightly. But they wont attempt anything to radical

So something like this then?

*

Yeah. Exactly like that. I can't see the BBC removing the blocks but just altering them slightly

I'm liking your creative ideas on the BBC branding but I do have to agree with the others in regards to the fact that I can't see them ever steering away from the three blocks. It would be the same as the likes of McDonalds and Apple changing their logos. Those blocks are synonymous with the BBC brand just as much as the golden arches are with McDonalds. Perhaps try altering the blocks a little, changing the font weight, rounding the edges, adding effects... Have a play around with it, be creative and don't take it too seriously that what this part of the forum is all about ๐Ÿ˜Š I've tried some effects out on the below logos just for experimentation but looking forward to see what you come up with next!

Good ideas. Thumbs up

Fun Fact: I actually tried out the sixth one (the one on the bottom right) in one of my earlier BBC rebrand attempts. Maybe I could use it on my second concept (thatโ€™s for another thread).

The glowy one, the 3rd one, would be a nice concept

I do like the glowy one! And the one in the top right hand corner.

Mabey try and add the effect you've used for the cover image of this project with the blocks

Well, I've just managed to recover one of my ancient BBC concepts (a bit like the sixth experiment) from ages ago. Here's a non-colored version:
*

And a colored one:
*

Either way, If I was to use it on a potential second thread, I'd make the rectangle round.

Alternatively, I've concieved a stylized, six-fragment wordmark (the one I teased a while back, of course):
*

Either way, with each one, I've attempted to steer pretty much away from the 3D and shadowy stuff - the latter of which had a pretty mixed response (focusing on post-modernish 2D graphics), so with chapter two, things should probably be a lot neater. I might add the 3D effect on the corporate logo (the cover image) though. Smile
