I like your work on this mock but the arrogance “masterpiece” tempts me to lower my rating. Sorry

Alright, I’ll try and improve my attitude. Razz

I've had people ask me before [and from my own free will!] to send my ideas to the big boys - I don't think I ever actually did so because laziness.

Regardless, it's not much of a good idea to do that. Like dbl said, the response might not be as imagined.

I'm sure they'll do something for their centennial, but a full scale rebrand...

It's in the cards, but I doubt they'll deal it.

Well, I don’t really mind if they give me a negative response or no response at all, but at least I gave it a shot. Anyways, this certainly isn’t the last you’ve seen of this mock; I still have CBBC, CBeebies, and BBC Scotland idents to showcase, as well as a first look at a redesigned BBC website.
Ahh, the joys of TV.

Okay, After moments of researching, I've managed to contact the BBC (via the "Contact the BBC Board" section) regarding my hard work. I'm not sure whether to show my letter to the BBC to you guys, but I did point out the BBC's upcoming 100th birthday, as well as including the links to this masterpiece (including the two concepts I've concieved). When and if I get a response, I'll let you guys know what they think! Smile

Please don't. The response (if you get any) might not be what you imagine.

Ok, here's some more pres as promised - for the first time in 27 days! Smile

I'm gonna focus on the Kid's channels now; starting with CBBC. The theme for this set is a spiritual successor to the 2016 idents, involves four of the same object, each in the colors of the CBBC symbol since 2016. One of those idents involves a toy car race...

*

Before it forms the stylized "C". followed by the "BBC" letters, before the square forms. Of course, this retains the 2016 "C-B-B-C!" jingle.

*

And there's more! As I said earlier, The CBeebies rebrand involves the logo coming to life. This set involves multiple CBeebies logos engaging in different activities, like a friendly game of tennis, as you can see here:

*

Also, It's time to unveil BBC Scotland's idents! Basically the same ident set, but with the new logo (obviously).

*

To cap off, let's get digital! Here's a first look at the redesigned BBC website. I have to say, this has been by far the most challenging part of this mock, but by all accounts, I think it was 100% worth it.

*

As ever, your opinions are welcome. Wink

Before I sign off though, here's a sneak peek of a potential second BBC rebrand concept. There's a clue in this one.
Ahh, the joys of TV.

No, they were ideas made long ago, before I came here.

As much as I like this there’s something about the logo which doesn’t make it look serious enough. The way I like to think about it is what it’d look like on the front of NBH, Dock, Quay and Bridge Houses and TVC (well, what it would have looked like). The current BBC logo fits because it’s a serious brand, and Gill Sans captures this well. In short it doesn’t look serious enough. Everything else looks good.
Please don’t shout at me.

Thank for you opinion! Smile Thanks also for that piece of advice on “serious” brands, and for rasing the issue on how that logo could look like on BBC buildings; I’ve actually imagined how they could incorporate that logo.

Well, at least I know what cons that concept has now...

I think your website idea is quite a weak. It does look cleaner than the current one but the font sizes and widths don't match with each other and it makes the whole thing look off. The CBBC logo looks like CBBCBBC and doesn't look as fun enticing or Kid friendly as the current iteration.

The point about the seriousness of the logo and how it would look when dispalyed in the real world is one that should be thought about with a company so famous. I can't honestly see the BBC switching to something like this as the blocks are so famous. I can however see them making the text reith or rounding the boxes slightly. But they wont attempt anything to radical

I like what you’re doing on the whole - what puts me off is your use of shadows, particularly behind and part of logos. I think they date it slightly. Similarly the shadowing behind the text on your News proposals would look a lot cleaner (although admittedly more similar to the current style) if it was a semi-transparent strap instead with clean lines.

Understandable. I’m actually trying to tone down on the shadows as much as I can on my second BBC concept (this thread is my first attempt, while my second attempt will be seen in a potential separate thread). In that same concept, I’ll see what else I can dow with the news proposals.
