I can't be the only one who thinks the sunrise is too close to the logo and text... right?

For me I visualised the text either rising as the the sun turned on the axis, I don’t know, it just made sense to me.

That flipper text, is far too small.

I just fixed that through editing the previous post. Thumbs up

Still looks the same to me after hard refreshing the page. It's too small compared to the size of the clock text and BBC NEWS text either side of it.

I think your title cards are good, but it's hard to see how those lower thirds are an improvement on the current ones - I may have said this already but IMHO you should either keep the current L3s or revert to a completely different style.

Okay, I've done a rather satisfying adjustment to the lower thirds. This time, I've managed to point it more towards the 2019-present formula, and of course, managed to address some concerns on the flipper text and other things. The text is in either medium or bold, so now it'll be easier to see.

I think the flipper text needs to be all capitals in order to be effective, as it looks smaller than it is in standard case.

Yeah, I suppose so. Perhaps that counts as the current look's most significant downside.

I'm currently experimenting with the lower thirds on my BBC News stuff, particularly by using uppercase in some situations. It's gonna take a while to perfect, but in the meantime...
Have you thought about giving BBC Four its own colour instead of black?

I've finally given BBC Four it's own colour, that being navy-ish blue, as I indicated previously.

And, as an added bonus, I tinkered with its respective endboard a little bit.

Well, to conclude, I've begun work on the idents for BBC One, Two and Four, and I expect to reveal them very soon.

Personally think the BBC Four logo is way too big on this graphic.

Otherwise, there's some nice progression here.

The updated logo shows why rebrands often don't happen.

The original square looked brilliant in isolation but you had issues with the various ways it would need to be used for channel branding etc. so have now tweaked it which addresses many of those issues, but now to be honest it looks a poor relation of the BBC blocks and a far cheaper and lazier rebrand than it was initially planned to be.

Can only agree with others in saying that the mock has drifted too far from the original premise. The square BBC logos were far better than the latest rounded logos, and were a strong replacement for the classic blocks.

The end boards, promos and ECPs are very strong, I particularly like how each channel has its own ‘pattern’.

I think the fonts and colours for the channel logos could do with some improvement, however, and the boxed radio logos look a little outdated. The colour used for BBC News and Parliament is too dark IMO, it’s more brown than red.

Overall a strong original concept, but the mock has lost its way slightly.

I know that some of you have mixed opinions about the design process here, but for me it has been a bit of a rocky road working hard to make it perfect. Replacing the original square was not a decision I took lightly, but I felt like it was in the best interests of my mock to listen to other people's opinions and take them on board. I really don't want it to come to a point where this mock spirals downward in quality, so I'm doing everything I can to keep this interesting as possible.
