I love both concepts to be fair, I feel like concept 1 is more of a realistic evolution but I also love the metro concept 2 which feels like the complete revamp that some of us crave.

Personally, the first concept seems stronger and more thought out. Ironically while the second designs have individual icons, it doesn’t feel as impactful. Two we know because of the current branding but I think from a face value, some may not recognise it as two. I also think because we know 2 and 3 are existing brands, 1 and 4 feel very flat. The radio brands also feel lacking in personality. I love the idea of having these app logos but for some it doesn’t work, Sport in this case feels a little basic.

The first batch however still retain the personality of the brands, I’m still not massively into Scotland being in lowercase but I do like the icon in the ‘o’. I also think the radio logos look nicer now they’ve been taken away from the block. CBeebies is still a bit too thick for my liking with all the outlines but I think that’s the only other weak one.

I do admire that concept two tried to rebrand iPlayer but BBC Video seems a bit...underwhelming. How about something like BBC+ ?

Thanks for your verdict! All options are certainly on the table in terms of any flaws that need fixing, though.

BTW, BBC+, hm? I was actually contemplating doing that, albeit as a combination of BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds. I might look into that as a future project.

I'm quick to mock up ideas Very Happy

Three choices - featuring a pink to orange gradient, signaling the idea of iPlayer and Sounds merging.

*

Plus sign - Gill Sans rebrand style - or custom wordmark job.

Also includes BBC logo in Reith Wink

Wow, sweet! Very Happy

Alright, I've made my final decision. the winning BBC redesign idea (drum roll please) is...

*
...Concept 1!

I experimented with that concept a lot today, and I was ultimately satisfied that it had potential. The flaws were a lot more easier to fix (which you'll be seeing soon), it brings more balance between the BBC name and channel name, and it maintains the the faithfulness of my previous concept.

I agree, I think we would all love to revamp the logo drastically but your work is still a significant departure from anything we’ve seen in years, yet it still feels progressive rather than an overhaul. I’m intrigued to see what you do next now that you’ve focused and decided upon a corporate logo. You’ve shown some fantastic concepts so far and some areas that could be explored further, so good luck with this.

Lovely that it's Concept 1 - I think it gives off the authoritative stance the Beeb want to pull off. I did feel that Concept 2 was a bit of an eyesore because of the colours but I don't like modern branding so... Razz

I'm eager to see what you have to treat us to next =)

Right, time to unveil some newly-refreshed branding, now that I've settled on a new idea! To start off, I've revised the kids channels a little bit, as with the BBC Scotland channel, as promised.

*

I've also done the remaining radio stations, as well as a minor adjustment to Radio 6 Music.

*

If that wasn't enough, I've also introduced the nation-specific radio networks, in revised form (obviously).

*

Oh, and before I forget, here are the other BBC News brands.
*

With all of that outta the way, there now follows a whole lot of on-screen presentation. We start with the Endboards. This concept is slightly different, but keeps the patterns from the previous incarnation of this mock as a transition. The left shows the transition, while the right shows the actual endboard.
*

And, we can't forget about the kid's channels, can we? I made some small adjustments to CBBC, while in CBeebies's case, I've revamped it entirely to fit in with the refreshed logo. That's what you call making it child-friendly.

*

Right, onto ECPs! For this concept, I've managed to streamline things a little, particularly with this concept below. When promoting multiple programmes, I figured that they could instead transition rather than being shown at once:

*

And to wrap up for now, a cross-channel menu, that would be shown at 7:00 in the evening.

This is looking much better. Also, I would have the logo and picture in the ECP at the same height, with enough space below for a longer programme name, just to keep everything neater. I like the new CBBC and CBeebies logos as well.

Can I ask, why are you putting the channel number info on BBC Scotland? It looks odd that one channel has it and no others do. I would drop it personally. Have you thought about giving BBC Four its own colour instead of black?

Thanks for the feedback! Well, in terms of BBCS, as it was a new channel at the time, they showed that kinda thing on their endboards, so I thought it would be a good idea to keep it. About BBC Four’s color scheme, I might go for navy blue.

Hello Here is an idea for CBBC what if the current cbbc logo morphed in to the new logo

I think you’ve made a tremendous improvement on CBeebies! I like the way you’ve balanced it over the BBC logo and used an outline rather than another block, could you do that on the CBBC logo at all? I also love the new CBeebies end board, the blobs are still kept above but have a much needed revamp. CBBC is still a bit underwhelming for me but I think maybe in actual presentation I could see a shutter effect given the style of the new logo.

The additional radios look good, glad you gave the 4 it’s personality back. Scotland still sticks out a little bit, also I assume you’re following reality so this critique isn’t meant so much for you but I do find it odd that the local stations have their own variations?

Again, looking forward to see what you do next!
