Sorry, but this is a poor attempt to bring ABC into the 70s. I don't think this works at all, borrowing LWT stuff seems very wrong, and not very ABC, especially as ABC had somewhat morphed into Thames at that time. The animation is lacking, and generally feels very lacklustre.

I think you need to consider the "reality" of the timescale you pick somehow for mocks. ABC mocks are fine but remember in reality they merged with Rediffusion to create Thames and in your timescale you're implying they kept a franchise somewhere (presumably as you stuck it on the side of the London Studios in this line they kept London weekends). This is fine but you're insinuating ABC happened to build the same studio complex, and generated the same ident music as the (real) LWT did, which is where your logic falls down. There's no right answer as its an alternative history theory and it could have happened but very unlikely for the package you've presented.
1.The ABC aspect I will admit is highly unlikely. Yes this is a "what if" but even alternative history has to have to some reality so I'll stop using it.
2. The animation is clunky and that needs a hell of a lot of work.
I think you might have done better in all honesty not sticking an ABC logo on the side of the London Studios and not using the LWT music because that would have saved the comparisons - you could just have used a block of flats for your picture which could be anywhere.
There's nothing wrong with using alternative history, indeed this can if done properly be really fascinating because there are no right or wrong answers with it. Its when you attempt to cram it into reality you run into problems.
I think the "realism" comments are a little unfair. A few weeks ago I uploaded a mock that implied Granada bought out Meridian three years before Meridian even started broadcasting and nobody said that was "too unrealistic".
As long as we don't stray into CWilliams1976 territory I don't think fantasy should have too many constraints.
All I'll say, as has already been implied, is the animation needs reworking completely. If you look at what they'd managed in the mid 50s you'd expect improvements by the time the 70s started... Unless you're Granada.
Putting the animation aspects to one side I can understand both viewpoints. I'm a big fan of alternative history and fantasy but fantasy and reality are like water and electricity, they don't mix.

It's not "flogging a dead horse" - to be perfectly honest your mock was just badly implemented. You've already identified the one key area and the second, yeah okay on reflection it probably wasn't particularly helpful but you've taken it as food for thought.
Anyway to the mock - yeah, obviously this needs improvement.
Even though it is likely that ABC might have used the same building/jingle as LWT, I think you should consider seeing what you can do without the ties of what LWT did. I feel seeing that will improve the mock on its own.
