I notice this isn't being shown in 4:3. I wonder if it isn't possible for BBC Two to broadcast 4:3 (even if only on SD) and HD at the same time.

I reckon it will be the BBC Scotland Channel, which seems to be what it's being referred to as most frequently. I can't see it being called "BBC Scotland", for the same reason as the BBC News Channel...

I've really enjoyed watching the early morning b/w films this weekend on BBC2, makes a nice change. I particulary enjoyed They Flew Alone this morning with Anna Neagle.
