The introduction of a new BBC1 Balloon ident makes me think that Ms Heggessey is more keen on the balloons than we first thought. The following is an extract taken from a report covering the story of the possible axing of the Balloon Idents, featured in MediaGuardian.

Question about BBC ONE
Why oh why can we not view other regions on Sky, like we do ITV regions, through the services menu? I would early love to know, are they encrypted perhaps? I would have thought that if it were possible, everyone would be doing it, but I've never heard anything about it mentioned.
BBC One Christmas Idents
Thought you might be interested in this - unfortunately the real media version is only on the BBC internal intranet ... but I'm sure you'll see it very soon! BBC Creative Services, BBC Media Arc and Aardman Animations have joined forces to create new Christmas idents for BBC One.
