I forgot I had this on YouTube, a lot of cable channel hopping from 1999. The picture didn't jump on TV, it's from the VCR. Easy to forget how rubbish the picture quality used to be on The Box.

Well yeah but you ain't going to get most of those anyway from the UK unless you happen to have a dish that's like the size of a house and high enough off the ground to compensate for the horizon....

For the first time since (AFAIK) January 1st 2000, BBC ONE is not scheduling an overnight broadcast from N24, due to Vote 2001: The Verdict. It isn't even being shifted to BBC TWO, like they did on 1/1/00.

Why can't digital TV just go out in 4:3 like analogue. I switched my 'look' of digital to 4:3 and the sides were cut out. I watched Look North the other day on Digital BBC One and the sidebar said it was called 'Ook Orth'.

Analogue switch off - hidden danger!

With the switch off of Sky Analogue, many hotels & health clubs etc. have been seriously affected. Most hotels I visit use Analogue & I assume many screens willl be blank at the moment across the country.

BBC Once Analogue Signal Is Switched Off

If and when the analogue signal is switched off does anybody agree with me that all national and international news bulletins including Newsnight presently on BBC One and Two will be shown on BBC News 24 together with programmes like Panorama included on the same channel.

Has anoyone noticed that BBC1 analogue tonight is broadcasting everything in 4:3, but its still 16:9 on digital? This is a good idea IMO as it will stop people from being annoyed by black bars.

Analogue ntl is rubbish!

An example: after they got rid of the Cable 7 local programming (which was interesting, at least, if poorly produced) they started up on channel 7 an information service, showing slides of info about the weather, horoscopes, the news, etc.

A list of what the analogue transponders are used for at the moment, compiled from Lyngsat. Most of the channels switched off analogue on April 30, some had left by the end of last year (notably Viacom, Discovery and some shopping channels).
