Is it not just a piece of glass with LED lighting running through it, has it got a name??

It's not a screen, its just some etched perspex with some edge lighting, probably LED in this case.

Most people will have seen the same idea with fire exit signs using flourescent lamps.

Incidentally, you can get fluorescent acrylic sheets which have a similar effect under ambient light - often used on shop displays for a cheaper version of that effect - the difference being that the sheet will be a muted version of the colour you get at the edge.
