Hello everyone!

I am currently re-designing my website to celebrate three years of web, print and broadcast design.

I would really like a voiceover announcement to play out at the start during a flash intro into the main website.

I am looking for people to record an intro, and then send it to me. The best one will win the competition.

Unfortunately there is no pay involved in this, but I would be very happy to put a link on my site to yours, therefore increasing your visitor traffic. My website will be viewed by people in the media industry so it will be a great way of getting your voice heard (quite literally) by the broadcast professionals.

So, if you think you've got THE voice, please PM me for a script. I will then choose the best announcement from all the entries (sent back to me via e-mail) to be featured on my site!

What are you waiting for? PM me now!

Many thanks!

It's not really a competition then is it, if there's no prize, you just want it done for free. Your best bet would probally be jinglemad or radio daddy.

The prize is a link from my site to yours, therefore boosting your visitor traffic.

And the reason someone visting your kind of website would want to visit a voiceover's kind of website is..?
Honestly, Bail's right, if you want it done for free just come out and say so. It's like what supermarkets (and some.... erm... tv channels... namely BBC 1 and Christmas ids....) do when they want to rebrand and it just looks cheap.
If you offered a modest payment of £5 by Paypal to the winner, you'd get lots of entries!

Because the site is aimed at people in the media requiring design work. The whole point of links is that people get around the net. If we didn't have links, we'd all be stuck in the same ring of websites all day! It's what makes the web interesting!

Don't take this the wrong way.. But traffic from your site isn't that appealing. You're site is entirely flash so won't be highly ranked on Google, as it can't see it, so you wouldn't get much click through traffic. You're on a free.. or just strange url extenstion, which makes no sence as a simple .co.uk is less than £5 for 2 years with a simple re-direct.

I'd be happy to do it, however you wanted, if you paid me. Or even as cdd said a small contribution for the effort. If you're that keen to get it free, try, as I've said radio daddy or jinglemad, they're both full of young people like yourself trying to get themselves heard. But as I said I'm not having a go, just moaning really, I'll go sit in the corner...

Thanks for your useful advice. I do appreciate it, and understand what you are saying.

I wanted to run a competition because I was interested in discovering new voices, rather than those already doing lots of voiceovers. My site is due to launch under a proper domain not .uni.cc which is currently being used. Also, flash websites are actually becoming higher ranked in many search engines as the text within them is actually now becoming searchable.

I know that the prize isn't particularly appealing, but it has definetly developed an overwhelming response. I've had lots of PMs and I'm looking forward to hearing what people come up with!

I do appreciate you advice James, but I am just hoping to run this competition my way. If people don't want to enter that's fine, but from the interest generated so far, it looks as if they do.

Many thanks.
