There's the 4 min version...

It is though just the 2 min loop (as stated above no 4 min version outright, it was just a loop extension)

Thanks for posting this badly edited version, unfortunately the official 4'25" version (or thereabouts), is different in the middle section - this is just a very bad edit at this point.

True!! Anyway.. The composer will just send you the music if you ask..

That's the 4 min version/loop officially. 4.25 brand new full version is unheard of.

You need to listen to the TV-am start up in Youtube then, you;ll hear that is different and edited into one piece.

You could post a link to the video, otherwise you could be arguing over this for years!

In fairness, few here have been completely wrong, but Bai4943's comments are closest to the mark.

It is a loop - albeit not merely a straight, single loop. It has been very tidily edited at at least two other points, mainly in the section starting from around 2:05, where it repeats a snippet from :08 and / or :50, and incorporates an alternate cut, hence the 2:00+ version alone does not represent this version. The result is an extended mid-section - this is the 'central' part that has been referred to.

The example in the start-up cross-fades most if not of all the repeated parts to 'smooth out' the stitches. From the comments here, seems it works well enough!

I think it's a great version, hence why I would have liked a nice clean copy of it. Paul you seem to have listened to it intently to extract the information you have done. Unfortunately I'm not musically inclined and so I couldn't provide the exact detail that Paul has done.

Like I originally said, all I was looking for was a good clean sparkly version of the "looped"/extended version. Sad

All of the 4:30 minute versions I've ever heard have been rips from videos and of poor quality as a result. This version was only used until around 1986 I believe - a bit before Nicam broadcasts so good stereo rips are probably not possible even from a decent quality recording. Maybe someone a bit technically minded on here could do some clever edits with the stereo 2:11 version?

In the meantime this is the best I have:
