Sinister music used on in TV news

Music sometimes used in tv news reports at the start to heighten tension or the severity of a story (February 2012)

I'm looking for some atmospheric music for the start of a news piece i'm doing at uni. I suppose it's not so much music as such. They use it in reports as background music to increase drama. e.g. This killer disease is coming to a house near you! With the music bed underneath.

I can only describe it as a slight humming if that helps.

Just didn't know if you knew of any kind of music like that or what I meant or where I could look.
